The second richest ecclesiastic collection of Hungary is the treasury of the Saint Bertalan parish-church in Gyöngyös. The collection is found in the former Almásy House, or, better known as the Holy Crown House, where the Hungarian crown was guarded three times between 1806 and 1809.
Along with goldsmith objects, chalices, standing crosses, reliquaries and monstrances of great artistic value, there are also pictures, books, chasubles and sculptures guarded in the treasury.
In 2018-2019 the Saint Bertalan church received a new spire, which had followed the design of the spires destroyed in the fire of 1917. In the southern tower a glass elevator and a lookout were built, from where one can see the interior of the tower as well as the panorama of the city and the Mátra Mountains through the shuttered windows.
